Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) Chairman Rev. Dr. Hkalam Sanson said that he welcomed the prosecution against him by Tatmadaw (Defence Services) after he talked to US President Donald Trump.

Lt. Col. Than Htike from Northern Command headquarters filed a direct complaint against him based on what he said to US President Donald Trump.

Dr. Sanson met US President Donald Trump as a religious leader representing Myanmar along with other religious leaders from Iran, Iraq and Libya at the White House on July 17.

At the meeting, Dr. Hkalam Sanson asked the President to help ethnic leaders achieve democracy and federalism in Myanmar because, he alleged, the Tatmadaw was brutally cracking down on Christian believers in Myanmar.

The Myitkyina trial court will reportedly give judgment on the complaint on September 9 after hearing the complainant and arguments.
