The majority of the budget will be spent for Mon State's development in this fiscal year, the State Budget Department’s director U Kyaw Zin Oo said.
“We found that current expenditure was the highest and development expenditure was the lowest in the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Changes have been made so development expenditure has risen starting from 2017-2018,” he said.
Office costs and maintenance costs have been cut down and the majority of the budget has been spent on upgrading roads and communication and providing electricity among the development tasks, according to him.
Citizen Budget newsletter states that 28.61 percent has been spent for roads and communication, 9.46 percent for electricity, 7.89 percent for urban development, and 9.52 percent for rural area development in this fiscal year.
Ks 31 billion current expenditure and Ks 64 billion capital expenditure for development have been spent out of Ks 95 billion budget in the 2017-2018 fiscal year,
Over Ks 103 billion have been allocated for this fiscal year’s budget and over Ks 28 billion has been allocated for current expenditure and over 75 billion has been allocated as capital expenditure for development.
