Australia Kachin organization donates Ks 7.5 million to Kasone IDPs

Kachin nationals and other Myanmar nationals living in Australia donated Ks 7.5 million to Kasone internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kachin State.

U Nhkang La, who has been assisting the IDPs, said the donated money has been divided into Ks 2.5 million each for the three IDP camps in Namti.

A total of 1,072 residents of Kasone Village fled to Namti since early April after fighting resumed between the Tatmadaw and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Kasone Village.

Currently, there are 216 people in the Roman Catholic Myoe Oo camp, 370 people in Lwan Khwa camp, and 486 people in Lan Khwa Baptist camp.

U Nhkang La expressed his happiness over receiving the humanitarian assistance from the Kachin Association Victoria (KAV) and Myanmar nationals living in Australia.

The KAV held a fundraiser and gave performances to raise funds for IDP families who are facing difficulties due to the fighting in the Kachin State.
