The Ministry of Border Affairs and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) jointly hosted a consultation workshop on a strategic operation plan for the voluntary repatriation of Myanmar refugees in Thailand in Nay Pyi Taw on 6 July, state media reported.

In his address, Union Minister Lt-Gen Ye Aung said that the government will make the necessary arrangements to ensure the return home of Myanmar refugees on the Myanmar-Thailand border with safety and with dignity.

The ministry is planning to ink another MoU with the UNHCR in regard to the ongoing projects to provide returning Myanmar citizens with education, health services, clean water, infrastructure and vocational training, the report said.
