The Chinland Defense Force – Kalay Kabaw Gangaw (CDF-KKG) on March 29 called on all adults in the Kale–Kabaw–Gangaw area to join the armed resistance to help overthrow the military dictatorship. The Kale–Kabaw–Gangaw corridor runs north to south along the western bank of the Chindwin River and includes parts of the Sagaing and Magway regions.
In the five years since the Spring Revolution began in response to the military coup, 92 brave men and women of the CDF-KKG have made the ultimate sacrifice for the country, while more than 200 others have been injured, including some who lost limbs. The group said it deeply salutes all those who sacrificed their lives and limbs for the noble revolutionary cause.
The CDF-KKG said it has consistently called for unity among resistance groups and does not want divisions or bloodshed between them. It also urged all groups to work together in solidarity to defeat the common enemy.
The CDF-KKG also stated it had worked with like-minded partners since the beginning of the Spring Revolution and remains willing to cooperate with other resistance forces in the future.
Its second general assembly was held in a controlled area from March 11 to 13, 2026, where members amended the draft constitution, elected the central committee and central executive committee, and set strategic policies and future actions, according to the CDF-KKG.
The CDF-KKG alleged that the coup junta is seeking to establish a new government through a sham election, aimed at securing international legitimacy while prolonging military rule. It said it would never recognize the junta as a legitimate institution and would resist any efforts by the regime to serve its own interests.
