Resistance forces and media from neighboring countries reported that the number of Junta soldiers seeking refuge in neighboring nations following clashes from  'Operation 1027', initiated late last year has surged to nearly a1,000.

Junta soldiers have reportedly fled across borders into Thailand, India, Bangladesh, and China among the five neighboring countries sharing boundaries with Myanmar.

The only exception is Myanmar’s border with Laos.

The Junta soldiers, deployed in Kachin, Karenni, Chin, and Rakhine States fled their bases, after intense offensives launched by resistance forces.

The number of the Junta personnel seeking refuge in Bangladesh exceeded 500, while over 400 fled to India, according to the statements from government officials of respective countries.

Before 'Operation 1027', around mid-2023, hundreds of Junta soldiers sought refuge in Thailand amidst intense offensives launched by the resistance forces in Karen State.

Although the Junta soldiers who fled across the border had been repatriated from the respective countries, the Military Council refrained from disclosing any details about these events.
