A woman was hit by a stray bullet and was injured while she was sitting in front of her home in Pan Myaung village, Minbya Township on the morning of November 18, locals said.
The injured 70 year old woman, Daw Ma War Sein, was hit by a stray bullet on her head. The bullet was allegedly fired by a member of the Tatmadaw according to a family member
U Tun Win, son- in- law of the injured, said that accident occurred while a Tatmadaw unit approached Pan Myaung village from Taung Phyu Mountain.
“They shot at children playing outside the village. My mother in law received a minor injury on her head. There was no fighting at that time. They [the Tatmadaw] just shot randomly because the kids ran away while they were coming,” he said.
Daw Ma War Sein is now having medical treatment at Pan Myaung hospital.
The DMG tried to contact Colonel Win Zaw Oo from the Western Command about the incident, and he said that he hasn’t heard any information about it.
“I haven’t heard yet about that accident. We didn’t have any fighting over there,” he said.
On August 24, 3 people died and 4 people were injured in Pan Myaung village from artillery blasts.
The families of the dead said that the shells came from the Tatmadaw soldiers camping at the mountain located in the middle of Pan Myaung village.
