Villager from Kyauktaw Township shot

A 33-year old villager was shot by Myanmar Army while he was going out to tend to his herd of buffaloes on the morning of 26 June in Kyauktaw Township.

U Win Maung from Thayagone village was injured and is undergoing medical treatment now. He was going outside with his father, but he ran away in fear when he encountered a military troop and was shot, he told the DMG.

“A bullet skimmed his left thigh, and another bullet penetrated his right calf. Fortunately, they are not serious injuries,” he said.

Colonel Win Zaw Oo from the Western Command said, “I do not know about this incident. I will look into it.”

The AA said that the Tatmadaw and the AA clashed at Oat Poe mountain range between Zee Chaung and Pazaing dam in Kyauktaw Township on 26 June.
