On the afternoon of October 25, there was fighting between the Military Council and the KNLA joint troops on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian Highway in Karen State, and two vehicles traveling on the road were damaged, the sources said.

Two vehicles were set ablaze following another exchange of fire between the Military Council and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian Highway, where military tensions persist.

Since October 18, after the conflict between the two sides, several vehicles have been stuck on the Asian Highway, and traffic has been temporarily suspended due to the fighting in Kawkareik.

There are frequent clashes between the two sides on Asian Highway , and the military council and KNLA joint forces are accusing each other of harming civilians and burning vehicles.

Furthermore, following the severe battle in Kawkareik over the last few days, the Military Council has been firing heavy weapons into the city every night, and fleeing Kawkareik inhabitants are also concerned about more airstrikes.
