Two students from Dawei Technological University arrested

Two students from Dawei Technological University were arrested in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region, the locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

Ko Myo Min Oo, a former political prisoner who was working for a company in Khonewindap Ward, Dawei, was again taken into custody by the military council on September 12.

Ko Myo Min Oo was detained for more than 5 months for staging a protest against the military dictatorship last year, and now he was arrested again after being released on amnesty.

Similarly, Ko Aung Wayan Tun, a student of Dawei Technological University, was arrested at his home in Kyatsarpyin ward by the military council on September 11.

At least 30 locals, including members of the Dawei Youth Strike Committee, have been arrested in Dawei Township in the past two weeks, and most of them are in the interrogation center.

Currently, the military council has tightened security in Dawei Township and is making numerous arrests under the pretext of overnight guest registration while conducting searches and inspections.
