Two KIA soldiers killed, three injured in Tatmadaw's ambush

Two soldiers from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) killed and three injured after the KIA troops were ambushed by the Tatmadaw while they were cooking a meal in Ban Nwe-Man Pying area under the control of the KIA Brigade 10 in the northern Shan State.

Tatmadaw troops, who came down Hpak Gum Mountain, attacked the troops from the KIA's 2nd battalion while they were cooking a meal on a farm near Hpak Gum Village on June 5.

A source from the KIA said the bodies of the two dead KIA soldiers and three guns (two rifles and one bazooka) had been left behind due to the attack.

The injured KIA soldiers have been transported to a Chinese border hospital.
