Tatmadaw, Northern Alliance clashed in northern Shan State’s Muse Township

A clash broke out between the Northern Alliance and the Tatmadaw near Nam Um Village in Muse Township, northern Shan State on August 29, causing concerns among local residents that work on slash-and-burn farms.

A local resident told K.N.G that the clash broke out in Bum Pri Bum area, which is under the control of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Brigade 9, and it broke out after the Tatmadaw battalions marched in the direction of the troops under the Northern Alliance – Burma.

“The clash didn’t take long. They fought once at 8 am and again at 3 pm. I heard the sound of large weapons being fired by the Tatmadaw,” the local resident said.
