Six Military Council Soldiers Killed in Falam Battle, Weapons and Ammunition Seized

A clash erupted between the Military Council troops and the joint forces of the Chin National Army (CNA) in Falam Township, Chin State, As a result of the clash, 6 Military Council troops were killed, and a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was captured by the CNA.

On August 12, the Chin National Army (CNA/CNF) and CDF-KKG (Chin Defense Force- Kalay, Kabaw, Gangaw) joint forces launched an unexpected attack on the Military Council Infantry Battalion 268 in Falam Township.

"Between 1:00 and 2:30 this morning, there was an attack by the CNA/CNF. However, we have not received any official information and are unaware of the details. We heard that a member of the KKG lost their life in the incident," said Salai Cung Ngai, a spokesman for the Chin National Defense Force (CNDF).

During the battle, 6 Military Council troops were killed, and the CNA/CNF and CDF-KKG forces confiscated 4 MA3 guns, 3 60-mm guns, 2 machine guns, 2 RPG launchers, and a cache of Point-5 machine gun bullets from the Military Council troops. A member of the CDF-KKG lost their life in the course of the battle.

Following the assault by the combined Chin forces on the Military Council Infantry Battalion 268 in Falam Township, the Military Council responded by indiscriminately launching airstrikes and artillery shells at villages. This action resulted in the injury of 10 civilians, including women and children.

The injured individuals were civilians hailing from Ramthlo and Sunthla villages in Falam Township.

Local residents revealed that the Military Council launched indiscriminate fire from Infantry Battalion 268, employing 120 mm, 80 mm, and 40 mm mortars towards the villages. This shelling hit Sunthla village, causing injuries to 3 people, including a child.

Out of the three individuals who were injured, a 10-year-old girl sustained a head injury, an 18-year-old son suffered a back injury, and a 40-year-old mother sustained a leg injury, as confirmed by a spokesperson from CNDF.

At approximately 11:00 AM on August 12, Ramthlo village situated along the Falam-Hakha road in Falam township was once again subjected to a bombing by a jet fighter. This incident led to the injury of 7 civilians, including 4 women and 3 men, with injuries reported as non-critical. The airstrikes caused damage to several houses, including a church in Ramthlo village.

During the early hours of August 12, specifically between 1:00 and 2:30 in the morning, the combined Chin forces, under the leadership of the Chin National Army (CNA/CNF), launched an attack on the Military Council's Infantry Battalion 268 located in Falam Township.
