Salaries of non-CDM education staff in Falam robbed of more than 80 million kyats

On the morning of January 31 at the Township Education Office in Falam, Chin State, during a meeting to pay non-CDM staff, more than 80 million kyats of salary money to be given to the staff was robbed.

During a meeting at the Falam Township Education Office, 4 masked men entered with a pistol and took away 80 million kyats of salary.

Regarding this matter, a Falam resident said, "When the meeting was going on, 4 people entered.

They were wearing masks and holding pistols in their hands. Then they called the Education Officer. At that time they were counting the money for the salary. I don't know if they took all the money or not. I don't know how many new 10,000 notes were in the gunny sack, which was almost full."

It is known that there are about 600 non-CDM education staff working under the Military Council in Falam

Township, and they were robbed when they were having a meeting at the Township Education Office to issue their salaries.

It is not known who the robbers were. Later, Military Council troops arrived and conducted inspections, and security was tightened in Falam.
