Repeated junta’s drone attack injure two villagers in Wa Myaung of Kyaukphyu

The military junta conducted another drone attack on Wa Myaung village under  Kyaukphyu township, just five days after the first one killing three women, including a 5-year-old girl, and this time injuring two other villagers.

On 20 February at around 5:30 pm, a suicide drone bombed the village, causing injuries to a woman and a man, said a villager.

"On Friday, a woman and a man were hit in the backs and arms by a bomb. Luckily, they survived," he said.

Meanwhile, the residents are fleeing from their places after the military drone attack. Earlier on 15 February at around 5 pm, a suicide drone and heavy weapons were fired on Wa Myaung village.

The deceased have been identified as  Ma Khin Htet Htet Soe (5), Daw Khin San Wai (43) and Daw Ma Wai Chan (60).

Both Khin Htet Htet Soe and her aunt Khin San Wai died on the spot. Ma Wai Chan, who sustained serious injuries to her  chest, passed away on 19 February.

Ko Naing Lin Htun, chairman of the Zin Chaung Youth Charity Association, confirmed the deaths.

The incident left Khin San Wai's sister Daw Khin San Lwin (42) and husband U Aung Lin Soe (44) seriously injured and they are now receiving medical treatment.

Myanmar military personnel have repeatedly committed war crimes through bombing many Rakhine villages with aircraft, drones and heavy weapons killing many people, as the fighting continues against the Arakan Army  fighters in Kyaukpyu township, where the Chinese oil and natural gas pipeline projects are located.

Despite the civilian casualties, including Rakhine women and children, the international community, including the United Nations, has not yet condemned the Myanmar military government in any formats.
