The military and a Pyusawhtee group killed one person when they torched several houses in a village in Hpoung Pyin Township in Sagaing Region on the morning of 28 February, according to locals.

“A 22-year-old disabled person was burnt alive in the house, and the military and the Pyusawhtee knew they were there,” a local told NMG on condition of anonymity.

On 1 March, a fighter jet sent from Kalay town also attacked Ashay Myin Tha village. The soldiers retreated from Ashay Myin Tha when they attacked Ashay Myin Tha, where they’re now staying.

Locals are concerned as fighting with the People’s Defence Forces in Hpoung Pyin Township has escalated.
