NUG Confirms Capture of Military Council Fighter Pilot Alive

The National Unity Government (NUG) has confirmed that one of the two pilots who ejected from the Military Council's fighter jet, downed by Karenni (Kayah) resistance forces, has been successfully captured alive.

On November 11th, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) successfully brought down a K-8 type fighter aircraft engaged in airstrikes against Karenni resistance forces, utilizing a .50 caliber heavy machine gun.

Major Khaing Thant Moe, a fighter pilot of the the Military Council, who parachuted following the jet crash and eluded capture for several days, has been apprehended through the collaborative efforts of the People's Defense Force (PDF), Naypyidaw Region military command, Karenni Army (KA), and KNDF.

Based on information from a frontline source, Major Khaing Thant Moe was located and apprehended on November 19th in Hpruso Township, Karenni State.

Than Lwin Times has not been able to confirm the actions that the resistance forces will take regarding the captured fighter pilot.
