A truck carrying 15 junta soldiers on the Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin highway was hit by a mine planted by defence forces at about 10:00 a.m. on 23 October.

The attack happened near to the Htone Pho Mingalar Bridge between Mandalay and Pyin Oo Lwin in Mandalay Region.

Four junta soldiers died and others were seriously injured, according to Generation Z Power, one of the people’s defence forces (PDFs) involved in the attack.

A senior person from Generation Z Power said: “A landmine was planted. [After it detonated] an ambulance showed up. We don’t know which hospital they took the wounded soldiers to.”

A nearby resident said that they had seen three or four ambulances travelling to and from the site of the explosion.

The attack was carried out by Generation Z Power-GZP (Mandalay), the People's Defense Urban Guerrilla Force, and the Pathein Gyi Township People's Defense Force.
