MoU signed for community centres and libraries

The Information and Public Relations Department under Myanmar's Information Ministry and Daw Khin Kyi foundation, a charity group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for community centres and libraries on Wednesday, according to a Xinhua report.

Under the MoU, 17 mobile library vehicles, 346 sets of computer and related equipment, over 110,000 books and 28 expertly trained staff will be handed over, said State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the foundation, adding that so far, the foundation has invested over 1 billion kyats (666,667 U.S. dollars) in the community centres and libraries project.

Aung San Suu Kyi also urged people to effectively use mobile libraries and community centres for the betterment of society and future generations.
