Mon revolutionary forces request NUG to give equal rights to all organizations

The revolutionary forces in Mon state have demanded on the one-year anniversary of People’s Defensive War that the National Unity Government (NUG) give equal rights and engagement to all organizations that are exterminating the dictatorship.

On September 7, it has been exactly one year since the people's resistance war started in various parts of the country to revolutionize the military regime that illegally seized power with weapons.

During this one year, the National Unity Government's (NUG) Ministry of Defense has carried out many military activities and was able to secure some territory, which is an advantage, said the revolutionary forces in Mon State.

However, Nai Ko Thu, who is in charge of the Northern Regional Command of the Mon State Defense Force, requested that the NUG provide equal rights and interaction with all revolutionary organizations and that equality should not be left out for a federal system in the revolution against the military regime.

The NUG Ministry of Defense said it has prioritized the delivery of weapons to areas where the fighting is intense, and is systematically carrying out the procurement and distribution of weapons depending on the budget received.

The People's Defense Force PDF in-charge of Thatthong District also noted that if the National Unity Government fulfills the needs of all ministries in an equitable manner, the revolution will be successful in a short time.

However, the revolutionary forces have little support from the NUG and are fighting against the military council with donations from the people.

During the revolution, more than 20,150 junta soldiers were killed and nearly 7,000 were injured, while more than 1,500 comrades of the People's Defense Forces (PDF) and allied ethnic armed forces lost their lives, according to the NUG.

In addition to forming People's Defense Forces in 250 townships, the National Unity Government (NUG) has established more than 300 People's Defense battalions throughout the nation.
