Mon parties to hold merger ceremony in September

The All Mon Region Democracy Party (AMDP) and the Mon National Party (MNP)’ Mon Unity Committee and the 21-member Mon National Representative Party Organizing Committee met on August 21 and agree to hold the merger ceremony in September.

The Mon National Representative Party Organizing Committee proposed to hold the merger ceremony in the first week of September while the Mon Unity Committee proposed to hold it in the third week of September.

The Mon Unity Committee has shown recognition towards the name “Mon National Representative Party Organizing Committee’, according to the three-point meeting record received by the MNA.

Chair Nai Tin Aung, vice-chairs, and secretaries from the two Mon parties and the Mon National Representative Party Organizing Committee’s leader Nai Ta La Nyi, Nai Ye Zaw, and some members attended the meeting, which was held at the AMDP headquarters in Mawlamyine, according to the Mon Unity Committee’s photo on Facebook.
