Myitsone project study and review commission Chairman T Khun Myat told people not to worry about the Myitsone dam construction project.
T Khun Myat said, “We have to make field visits and form working groups. We shall do our best. Don’t worry. We have demanded to see the dam project agreements.”
President Htin Kyaw constituted the commission to study and review dam projects on the Ayeyarwady River including Myitsone which was suspended by the previous government after a public outcry.
In the 20-member commission, Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives T Khun Myat acts as Chairman, while six union ministers, the Union Attorney General, Kachin State government Chief Minister and others will act as members.
T Khun Myat said that the first meeting of their commission would be held on August 22.
