Military Junta Jets Bomb Mawchi, Causing Casualties

On March 10, at around 12:45 p.m., the military junta carried out an airstrike using a jet fighter on the Mawchi area in Hpasawng Township, Karenni State, according to local residents.

Regarding the injuries, a local resident who was near the site of the airstrike said, “The bomb landed about 200 feet away from a kitchen. One person was hit in the arm, another was injured in the neck, and a few workers sustained minor injuries and wounds.”

Another local resident said it was difficult to determine how many bombs were dropped because it was raining heavily in the Mawchi area at the time of the airstrike.

“It was raining very heavily, and the sounds were mixed together. I only heard one or two explosions,” the resident said.

Local residents added that detailed information about the airstrike is still unknown. Previously, on February 5 this year, the Mawchi area was also bombed by aircraft, killing a woman in her 70s.
