Military Council’s airstrike in Karenni State kills 2 medical personnel providing emergency relief on the frontline

On April 11th, the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) issued a statement revealing that two emergency relief workers lost their lives in a Military Council’s airstrike which took place on the frontline in Karenni State.

In a statement released by KSCC’s health committee, the two relief workers who lost their lives have been recognized as martyrs. The Kantarawaddy Times reached out to KSCC officials for further details on the incident, but they responded that they were unable to provide any information at the moment.

The Military Council has increased its use of airstrikes in Karenni State following intensified fighting with the revolutionary joint forces. On April 3rd, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) reported that the Military Council’s airstrikes had resulted in the deaths of 5 civilians in the month of March.

KNDF also said that the Military Council’s helicopters conducted over 52 flights above various townships in Karenni State during the month of March.
