Military Council’s aerial bombing in Chin State's Waibula town claims nine civilian lives

On April 10th, at approximately 11:00 am, the Military Council carried out an airstrike on the town of Waibula in Falam Township, located in Chin State. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of nine innocent civilians and inflicted numerous injuries upon others.

On the morning of April 10th, the Chin National Defense Force (CNDF) carried out a raid on a Military Council base located in Ver village, near Falam Township, and successfully occupied it. In response to this action, the Military Council launched an aerial bombing campaign on Waibula as a retaliatory measure.

A Military Council jet fighter dropped bombs that detonated in close proximity to Waibula's school and football fields. As a result of this attack, at least nine innocent civilians lost their lives, and many others were wounded.

"The death toll has reached nine, and a significant number of people have sustained injuries. Additionally, we received reports that a woman passed away while undergoing treatment. At the moment, it is challenging to provide an accurate estimate of the total number of casualties. Unfortunately, the communication infrastructure on the Waibula side is not adequate, which is hindering our ability to obtain precise information on the situation”, a local of Falam said.

Furthermore, as a result of the Military Council's airstrike, five residential houses located in Waibula town were destroyed.

Waibula town is situated on the Kalay-Natchaung-Falam Road and is approximately 15 miles away from Ver village.

The Military Council also carried out a minimum of six bombings on Ver and Kyaung He villages located in Falam Township on the morning of April 10th.
