During the drafting of the Mon State Revolutionary Charter, military cooperation among Mon revolutionary organizations will be strengthened, according to a spokesperson for the Mon Revolutionary Forum.
The Mon Revolutionary Forum was held from March 9th to March 11th, 2026. Revolutionary organizations agreed on several common positions during those three days. Based on these shared principles, they will proceed with drafting the “Mon State Revolutionary Charter.”
While the charter is being drafted, a “Mon Revolutionary Coordination Working Group” will be established. Its role is to facilitate cooperation and coordination among revolutionary organizations in military, political, and administrative matters. Through this group, military coordination among the organizations will be enhanced and implemented more effectively.
Mi Rot Chan, spokesperson for the Mon Revolutionary Forum, said, “Through this forum, during the period in which we drafted the Mon State Revolutionary Charter, we have made decisions on cooperation related to the revolution, particularly between the New Mon State Party–Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP/AD) and the Mon State Federal Council. To further strengthen cooperation, we have also formed a Mon Revolutionary Coordination Working Group.”
To further strengthen military cooperation, mechanisms for military coordination will also be developed among revolutionary organizations. These mechanisms are intended to enable more effective resistance against the military dictatorship’s forces.
During the three-day forum, participants discussed and proposed various recommendations regarding cooperation among the Mon revolutionary forces. These recommendations will be further reviewed and coordinated for implementation.
“We had extensive discussions about military matters at the forum. We reviewed the current battle situation and discussed issues related to military affairs and the processes we are currently carrying out. Participants also gave recommendations on how we should move forward. We will review these suggestions and work toward implementing them,” Mi Rot Chan stated.
The forum also declared that building Mon State within a federal democratic union that guarantees the right to self-determination is the primary goal of the revolution. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling the military dictatorship and all authoritarian systems, abolishing the 2008 Constitution, and continuing efforts to establish a federal democratic union.
A total of 73 representatives attended the Mon Revolutionary Forum, including delegates from the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC), the New Mon State Party–Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP/AD), the Overseas Mon Coordinating Committee (OMCC), the Mon State Consultative Council (MSCC), Mon civil society organizations, Buddhist monks, and observers.
