Military column attacked after torching village in Htilin, killing commander

The People’s Defense Force attacked a military column of junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee, who returned after burning a village in Magwe Region’s Htilin Township, the sources told Than Lwin Times.

On November 1, a column of around 100 military personnel returning from burning the Kyarkhe village was ambushed by the Yaw Defense Force (YDF-Htilin).

After that, the two sides exchanged fire, and four members of the military council were killed on the spot, and the commander was wounded in the waist and died in the hospital, according to a local.

The military column, which had incurred casualties in the combat, subsequently entered the village of Parmyin while opening fire, returning to Htilin in the evening.

The military council army and the PDFs engaged in daily combat in the Gangaw District during the final week of October, resulting in at least 40 deaths on the junta side.

In the early hours of November 1, the military council destroyed 14 houses belonging to the residents.

According to aid workers, around 100,000 locals are currently fleeing the conflict in Gangaw and Pakokku Districts as a result of the military operations of the soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia.
