The Myanmar government on Tuesday launched migration of Unicode standard which can comply with international encoding system to support the transition of e-Government, Xinhua reported.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi called for active participation of the public in the movement for the better communication services between government, organizations and people.

Myanmar's e-Government Development Index progressed to 157th position in 2018 from 169th in 2016, said the state counsellor, adding that migration of Unicode standard is a part of e-Government Master Plan of the country.
