Nai Chan, Head of Rehmonnya Defence Force was ambushed and killed between Ah Lel Sa Khan village and Theachaung village in Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, Nai Chan, the officer in charge of the Rehmonnya Defence Force (RDF), was ambushed and killed on September 24.

Nai Chan was riding a motorcycle when he was ambushed on the road and died on the spot.

The Independent Mon News Agency continues to investigate the incident.  

Last May, Nai Chan and his members were ambushed near Manaung village in Ye Township. Nai Chan was unharmed during that ambush attempt, but a RDF member accompanying him was killed.

The Rehmonnya Defence Force is active along the border between Ye Township and Tanintharyi Region.

The military junta, the Karen National Union and the Peoples’ Defence Forces, and the New Mon State Party are all active in the area  where Nai Chan was killed.

In July of last year, there was a battle between the military junta and Karen joint forces in the same area.
