Late-night air strike in Ponnagyun Town

According to reports, the Military Council Air Force carried out an air raid on the night of June 22 in the vicinity of the old 550th Infantry Battalion camp in Ponnagyun, Rakhine State, which is currently under the Arakan Army (AA)'s control.

A local resident claimed that at roughly 10:30 p.m. on June 22, the Military Council Air Force bombed five targets from a jet fighter close to the 550th Infantry Battalion, where they were based.

"The extent of the damage is unknown to us. We didn't go there either. According to him, there are no residents in Ponnagyun; thus, there will be no harm to anyone.

Nevertheless, the full extent of the fatalities and destruction was impossible for Narinjara to ascertain on its own.

On March 4, 2024, the Arakan Army (AA) seized the military council's 550th Infantry Battalion in Ponnagyun township and now has full control of the entire township.

Additionally, on the night of June 19, the military council bombed the 380th Infantry Battalion in Minbya township.

The Sagaing earthquake has caused the military council to declare several ceasefires, but in reality there is no ceasefire on the ground, and the council is intentionally bombing civilian towns, villages, and neighborhoods.
