KIA Attempts to Capture Junta camps in Bhamo District Intense Conflicts Fierce Fighting in Mongjaryang,

The KIA has launched attacks on Junta camps situated in the vicinity of Mongjaryan Momauk Township, Bhamo District, Kachin State. The Junta has responded with artillery shelling of Mongjaryan, extending towards the Chinese border.

Intense clashes commenced on March 27 in Mongjaryang town, where hostilities erupted between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), the armed wing of the Independence Organization (KIO), and the Junta forces. Throughout the clashes, artillery bombardments ensued from the Junta's base located on Yaw Yung Bum Mountain.

An artillery shell discharged from Yaw Yung Bum Mountain landed on the Chinese side of the border close to Mongjaryang, prompting several Chinese citizens to evacuate the area.

The resistance forces led by KIA continue in their efforts to capture the four Junta bases situated around Momauk and Lwegel. The ongoing clashes are currently characterized by heightened intensity.

Another source has suggested that up to three artillery shells landed on Chinese territory; however, the MNJ has not been able to verify this information.

The  KIA on March 7 successfully captured fortified bases including N tap Bum dap, Hpun hpyen bum, Nam Hpak Hka Mahkrai post, Mali military base, and Hkaya Bum along the Myitkyina-Bhamo Road, as well as frontline sentinel outposts.
