Karenni Joint Forces Capture Another Junta Camp in Mese Township

The Karenni Army (KA),and the Karenni Joint Forces have captured another Military Council base camp located in Mese Township,Karenni State reported by the Kantarawaddy Times.

Colonel Phone Naing Adjutant General of the Karenni Army (KA) colonel related, "We successfully captured the Mese base camp at 5:30 in the morning of the 23rd.Shortly after our capture, at around 6:00, they launched an airstrike using four warplanes. The Mese base camp is strategically positioned in front of a significant hill, serving as a central hub for communication with Taung Hla, Son He, BP-14, Mae Ta Nwe in Mese, Nampaung in the north, and other military camps along the border."

Colonel Phone Naing continued stated, "Starting from June 13 until today, we have successfully captured three military base camps. With the addition of the Mese camp, the total number of captured camps now stands at four. The previously captured camps include Taung Hla, Mae Ta Nwe, and BP-14. Currently, there is no presence of the Military Council in these camps, as we have taken full control."

According to reports, the Military Council has been unable to regain control of the captured camps thus far. Given the significance of Mese Township for both the Karenni Joint Forces and the Military Council, the latter has resorted to employing aircraft for offensive purposes, while helicopters are utilized to provide reinforcements in terms of manpower and food supplies during the ongoing battle in Mese.

"This holds great importance for both parties involved. For the Junta their priority is to maintain control  here forever. On our part, it is crucial that we hold  the territory in order to reclaim what rightfully belongs to us,” Colonel Phone Naing continued.

During the conflict in Mese Township, the Karenni Joint Force successfully seized a 120 mm mortar along with various small arms. According to Colonel Phone Naing, there have been multiple casualties, with tens of deaths from the Military Council. Additionally, a significant number of their soldiers have fled the camp.
