Junta seeking to restore notorious Central Institute of Civil Service, Phaung Gyi

The military council is pressuring its employees to attend a 6-month training course at Central Institute of Civil Service (Phaung Gyi), including one and a half months of basic military training, the sources close to the matter told Than Lwin Times.

Under the NLD government, the training was only required to be attended for one month, but after the coup, the duration was extended from three months to six months.

In the course, eight departments of education will teach management, economics, law, social science, political science, English, information and communication technology for more than four months, and defense, combat, and basic military subjects will also be taught for a month and a half.

A non-CDM staff member confirmed to Than Lwin Times that the authorities have ordered all staff to attend the training, and those who do not attend the training won’t be promoted or given other benefits.

Military training became the top priority during the military regime, and staff complained about being forced to attend mandatory military training.

In addition, the military council said that the NLD party did not resolve the voter fraud in the 2020 election, and that the coup was the reason for the coup, and that the NLD party was the only one to bring about this situation.

In addition, the authorities are teaching basic military education at the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union (UDNR) and are planning to teach it at universities and degree colleges across the country, according to people close to the education community.
