Junta secretly strengthens Kyaukphyu troops amid high casualties

Khaing Lu Hla — Despite a temporary calm in Kyaukphyu township after the high casualties of junta forces, the Myanmar militaries are conducting secret and nighttime replenishments of weapons as well as security personnel at Danyawaddy naval headquarters, located in Thit Pote Taung area.

A source monitoring the situation informed Narinjara News that around 200 soldiers were brought here by 12 am on 6 April.

"They arrived at midnight via a warship and were immediately unloaded at  Danyawaddy naval headquarters," added the source.

The junta previously utilized the Kyaukphyu jetty and Ngalapwe port  for reinforcements and now they are using the Danyawaddy naval headquarters.

The wounded soldiers were hospitalized in battalion 34, based in Kyaukphyu. Many of them were evacuated to Sittwe and Yangon via naval vessels. The new recruits are also arriving on the return trips.

"Previously, injured soldiers were transported to Sittwe military hospital. But due to capacity issues in Sittwe, they have been transported to Yangon. Many injured officers were  airlifted to Mingalardon military hospital in Yangon. Some critically injured soldiers died while undergoing medical treatment at the hospital,” explained the source.

The fatalities at battalion 34 led the Kyaukphyu cemetery to receive a maximum number of dead bodies.

The  new recruits are facing more casualties against the Arakan Army (AA) fighters. As the AA military source claimed that those soldiers have been  facing high casualties, surrenders, and also disappearances.
