Junta fighter jets bomb Mindat, destroying seven houses

Two junta fighter jets bombed two sites in Sanpya Ward, Midat Town, southern Chin State’s Mindat Township, destroying seven houses.

Around 9:40 pm on September 21, junta aircraft dropped four bombs on two sites in Sanpy Ward, a Mindat resident reported.

“Initial reports indicate no casualties as airstrikes hit Sanpya Ward, destroying seven houses,” he told Khonumthung.

The jets carrying out the airstrikes were deployed from the junta’s Aye Lar Airbase in the capital Naypyidaw.

Similarly, on September 10, a junta fighter jet dropped two 500-pound bombs on Kharpan Village in Sub-region 5, Kanpetlet Township, southern Chin State, damaging two school buildings and injuring one civilian.

After junta troops were driven out from towns in southern Chin State, including Mindat, various Chin resistance forces assumed control, establishing administrative and civil service operations in the areas under their authority.
