Khaing Lu Hla (Roma Mray) — The military controlled media outlets are reporting that the military commission surrounded and blocked Gwa, the southernmost town of Rakhine State currently under the control of Arakan Army (AA), which is just propaganda, said AA spokesman U Khaing Thukha.
“These reports are propaganda,” he asserted while talking to Narinjara News.
It was reported by some media outlets that the Myanmar military has surrounded Gwa town as the infantry troops are only six miles away from it. Moreover, the military is intensifying its offensive in the town.
Khaing Thukha also added that the junta’s naval ships are only firing through heavy weapons from a distant location.
“Sometimes, their navy ships come closer around 10,000 meters from the shore and fire heavily on the villages near Gwa market area. Many villagers and displaced people were hit by their weapons. Some of them sustained injuries and damages occurred to their houses,” said the AA spokesman.
According to those news items, Gwa bordering Ayeyarwady division, is in a position where the junta army can surround it, preventing movements by both the land and sea. Moreover, they also recaptured 24 villages near Gwa.
The armored vehicles and drones are now marching from Bawmy to Thin Paung Taw, arriving closer to Gwa Chaung bridge.
As the military’s naval group is near the bridge, it may be captured soon. The navy vessels reportedly arrived in groups near the Rahai Kutoe village at the north of Gwe and they are expected to land from there and surround the town.
A Gwe resident said they have not received any such news that the Burmese army captured 24 villages under Gwe township. Some said the navy personnel harassed the villagers.
The news that the army invaded from the mainland was also false as it was impossible to invade Gwe because gun fighting was going on in Ayeyarwady locality.
The motivated report also said that a terrorist column had reached Padeikaw village at the east of Gwe. Some members belonging to the Awami League fled Gwe and retreated to the Rakhine region.
Now it’s found that a multi-purpose combat vessel carrying fourteen tanks and other heavy military equipment had reached about six nautical miles from Gwa. The Myanmar military also blocked Gwa from the side of land and sea. So the junta forces took control of many villages at the south of Gwa including Myaingpin, Pingpinsu, Padeikow and Shama.
As Narinjara News investigated, it was found that many military camps and outposts in Laymyin township, which were set up at the mouth of e Baw Mi river with the intention of attacking Gwa, were destroyed by the AA fighters and many of them fled whole facing heavy losses due to the AA offensive.
