Fuel prices have risen again to nearly Ks 2,300 per liter

In Mon State, fuel prices have bee reported to rise to nearly Ks 2,300 per liter within a week from March 19 to 26.

In the domestic market, the price of diesel has gone up from over Ks 2,000 kyats to nearly Ks 2,300 and that of 95 octane from Ks 2,100 kyats to Ks 2,260 in a week.

The factors that attacks on Saudi Arabia’s refineries by Houthi rebels, failure to reach an agreement to reduce fuel imported by Russia intto the EU and the depreciation of the Myanmar currency since the military coup, have pushed up fuel prices.

In the world crude oil market, the closing price on March 26 was $ 120 a barrel.

Rising global crude oil prices have pushed up domestic gas prices and led to a sharp drop in trading in the market.

Fuel prices were just over Ks 600 per liter before the coup, and have risen to about Ks 2,300 per liter since the coup.
