Four military personnel killed in Kyaikto fighting

Near Mayangchaung village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State, the fighting broke out between the joint forces of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the military council on the night of March 21 according to the officials from KNU Brigade 1.

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the PDF joint forces clashed with the junta military marching at night.

Four members of the military council were killed and two others were injured in the fighting, Pado Saw Soe Myint, chairman of Thaton District’s KNU Brigade 1 told the Than Lwin Times.

After the fighting, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the PDF coalition were able to withdraw unharmed.

 In Kyaikto Township, there are frequent clashes with the KNLA as the military council conducts military operations. The military council has suffered heavy casualties during the fighting.
