Four diagnosed with Covid and one died in single day in Mogaung

Four people were diagnosed with Covid within one day (October 3) and one patient with certain medical conditions died in the City of Mogaung, Kachin State, according to local charity groups.

When people who came to the hospital for other diseases were tested, 4 were found to be infected with Covid. One patient with underlying medical conditions died at around 8:00 pm, the chairman of the collective association of charities in Mogaung told Myitkyina News Journal.

"The person who died now had a cardiac device in his heart, and a bit old too”, the chairman said.

It had been about twenty days since the reemergence of the Covid virus in Mogaung. Out of the eight people tested at the hospital, one had died and two had already been discharged from the hospital. The rest were being placed in the Covid surveillance ward. Two of them were already vaccinated prior to the infection.

The charity groups urged people to follow the health regulations because the public nowadays no longer live according to anti-Covid rules.

“People should live according to the health regulations. In case of an emergency, we are always ready to help. I want to urge the people to wear masks and wash their hands thoroughly”, the chairman said.

Many people in Mogaung were infected during Covid third wave and more than 200 died with the disease.

Recently, the Ministry of Health, controlled by the Military Council, confirmed new cases of Covid infection were detected in some cities in Kachin State including Myitkyina, Mogaung, Mohnyin, Momauk, Bhamo, Putao and Danai.
