A village along the Shan–Karenni border has been completely displaced after attacks by the military junta using heavy weapons and drone strikes starting on April 23, and is in need of assistance.

“Drones were circling around 1 p.m. They fired about nine times. As soon as we ran out, heavy artillery shells landed behind us,” said a displaced woman who fled the attack.

Although there has been no ground offensive in the Shan–Karenni border area, daily shelling and drone attacks have continued. Within two days, four civilians were killed, and several others were injured.

Displaced villagers said they had to flee urgently amid artillery fire, leaving behind rice, paddy, livestock, and other belongings.

“Right now, the greatest difficulty is our livelihood. All of our rice and paddy were left behind at home,” another displaced woman said.

Revolutionary forces have warned villagers not to return yet or retrieve their belongings due to ongoing security risks.

The affected village has around 400 households and a population of over 1,000 people. Currently, residents are scattered in displacement. Due to the security situation, nearby villages are also relocating rice, paddy, and essential supplies, according to local sources.
