The Democratic Party for a New Society (DPNS) Chairman Aung Moe Zaw said that Myanmar is facing various crises which can be resolved successfully only by building trust among ethnic nationalities and political forces.

“In these 4-5 years, both democratization and the peace process have been stalled and sometimes they are seemingly moving backward. At the same time our country is in grave concern as the country is facing unprecedented confrontation with the international community in our history,” He said.

In its statement issued on the party’s 31st founding, DPNS said that the country’s image was badly tarnished in the international community by the Rakhine conflict, extreme nationalist movements and matters on internal peace, and the DPNS pledged to perform whatever duties shouldered by the party along with likeminded ethnic nationalities in the country, and fraternal parties which have the same attitude as them.

The DPNS was founded by workers, farmers, youths and students during the 1988 popular uprising.
