Nang Lang Kham, the deputy CEO of Kanbawza Bank, one of the largest private banks in Myanmar, was shortly detained by military intelligence at the Yangon airport on the morning of May 8. She subsequently missed her flight to Bangkok, reliable sources told Mizzima.

The eldest daughter of well-known business tycoon Aung Ko Win was waiting to board MAI's 8 am flight to Bangkok when military intelligence officers took her to their office attached to the airport. She was released at 9:30 am, but the flight had already departed.

The 33-year-old executive director of Kanbawza Group was interrogated by the office commander of military intelligence, Major Kyaw Myat Lin, sources told Mizzima. Nang Lang Kham was once considered to be a leading young businesswoman in a modernizing Burma.
