Civilians Massacred During Junta Attack On Sagaing Village

At least 15 people were killed by Burma Army (BA) artillery fire on Friday morning that destroyed almost all houses in a village in Burma’s Sagaing Region, a local source told KNG on condition that his name not be mentioned.

Namayit residents began fleeing when the shelling started, he said. “There’s still a BA column near our village and that’s why we cannot collect the bodies” to determine the exact death toll.

The military column is staying in nearby Zeephyu Kong which was also shelled as well as Myo Hla. All the residents from the three villages in Shwebo Township have fled.

According to Data For Myanmar, the regime has destroyed 5,231 houses as of 23 February, including 3,126 in Sagaing Region.
