Chin man receives Ambassador for Peace award given by Universal Peace Foundation

The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) has nominated Salai Jacob Thang, a Chin national, as an Ambassador for Peace during the Asian Leadership Conference held in Bangkok from January 6 to 8.

“Government officials, MPs, businessmen, religious leaders, and experts from respective countries attended this conference. The award is given to aspiring persons who are working in respective areas,” said Salai Jacob Thang.

Salai Jacob Thang has previously received the Youth Peace award from the Youth Federation for World Peace (YFWP) during a youth conference held in the Philippines.

He is currently serving as chairman and coordinator at Hakha-based Chin Youth Organization and the Chin Organizations Network. He also participates in the Chin State Hluttaw Affairs Committee. He serves as the Chin Zone Coordinator for Yangon-based Gaia organization.

The UPF gives the Ambassador for Peace award to peace leaders with respectful lifestyles and work for public interest, build happy marriages, join hands with various religions, have good foreign relations, and promote peace by aiming towards public interest.
