The Chinland Defence Force – Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) announced that it will collaborate with like-minded resistance groups to liberate not only Thantlang but the entirety of Chin State, pledging to completely eliminate the junta’s military presence across the state to achieve this objective.
The statement was made during the Thantlang Township Council/CDF-Thantlang 5th anniversary celebration, held at an undisclosed location in Thantlang Township on April 6.
As its resistance struggle enters its sixth year, CDF-Thantlang added that it will intensify cooperation with like-minded groups to achieve its democratic and political goals.
“The 5th anniversary of CDF-Thantlang was successfully held on April 6. To achieve our military, political, and administrative objectives, we will continue to work with like-minded armed resistance organizations to establish federal democracy in Chin State,” the secretary general of the group said.
He added that CDF-Thantlang will continue its efforts to clear the remaining junta outposts in Thantlang Township and to strengthen unity among the Chin people.
CDF-Thantlang recalled that many resistance fighters and civilians were killed and injured at the hands of the junta during the past five years of resistance.
“Over the past five years, 68 CDF-Thantlang comrades have sacrificed their lives for our beloved Chinland,” the secretary general said. Another 25 resistance fighters lost their limbs for the cause.
Over the past five years in Thantlang Township, 23 civilians have been killed and 54 others injured as a result of the coup regime’s brutalities.
Fighters who returned to their original duties after being injured in combat were honored during the 5th anniversary celebration of CDF-Thantlang. Awards for performance and bravery, including the Hruaitiamnak Award, Zohchunhtlak Award, and Min Thattertu Award, were also presented.
CDF-Thantlang called on the public at home and abroad to continue supporting the revolution through personal involvement, expertise, and funding until it succeeds, and vowed to continue fighting until the military dictatorship is completely eradicated.
