Bomb explodes at NLD party member’s home, injuring family members

A bomb exploded at the home of a former village administrator appointed by the National League for Democracy at Zayat Hla village in Yekyi Township, Ayeyawady delta region, on 8 September.

U Myo Min Thein was wounded and his family members also injured in the incident.

An unidentified man on a motorbike gave a package to the administrator and immediately left.

U Myo Min Thein had already resigned from the post of village administrator after the military coup took place.

Junta forces accused him of testing a homemade bomb as they did not find any clues. He is now getting medical treatment and under arrest, according to the local sources.
