Bomb blasts in Myawaddy damaged residential houses and electric networks

Bomb blasts in Myawaddy Township on the night of October 14 th , one explosion occurred near the 1st Friendship Bridge at the Thai-Myanmar border, and a second bomb attack took place at the Border Guard Forces’ disciplinary office, witnesses confirmed.

Due to the impact of the bomb fragments, some houses and power cables were damaged and 3 cars were destroyed in the vicinity of the 1st Friendship Bridge, a Myawaddy local said. The exact types of bombs are not yet known. The residents are living in fear of more incidents, because of the frequency of bomb explosions near the 1st Friendship Bridge in Myawaddy.

“The house closest to the explosion was almost completely destroyed. Other nearby houses were also damaged. And the power cables are cut off”, a local resident told the KIC. Earlier on October 11, a grenade attack killed a person inside a restaurant near the bridge.
