Arrests made in Launglon Township

Nine old men were arrested by the junta after a person who is notorious as a military informant was killed in Launglon township, Dawei District.

Kyauk Sin, Thabawt Seik, Pyin Gyi villages in Laung Lone Township was raided by about 20 military council troops and nine men were attested on October 17.

After the arrest of U Aye Lwin, U San Lwin, U Tin Soe and U Tun Naing from Maungmakan Kyauk Sin village, five villagers were arrested in Thabaw Seik and Pyin Gyi villages again.

On the morning of October 18, five villagers from Thabaw Seik and Pyin Gyi were sent back to their houses.

U Yee Oo, a 39-year-old and so-called military council informant, was shot dead in Kyauk Sin village on 11 October.

After the incident, a total of 21 people were arrested near the village and are being questioned at the Maungmakan police station.
