Local residents of Skann-maw village track under Ann Township worried about the probable gas leak from an uncovered pipeline which came out of the ground after the watercourse runs over it.

The gas pipeline came out of the ground in three locations namely at the mouth of Pyaung Gya stream (near Lupyo Chaung village), at Phyouk Oo stream (near upper Zin Gaung village) and one more at Masoe Ma Can stream (near Khamoung Choung village under Skannmaw village track).

“We got the information about the uncovering of gas pipeline a few days back. Local people have to cross the stream whenever they go to work in their farmland. The water level of the stream is around two foot.

Now they get worried to cross the stream as the pipeline comes out of the stream,” said U Myo Lwin, chairman of Ann Township gas pipeline watching association.

He also added that the repairing work was urgently needed. Unless the pipeline in various locations was covered, the local people will continue upsetting over it, he asserted.
