Activities of coup leader Min Aung Hlaing will be cautiously monitored during his visit to Rakhine State, said U Khaing Thu Kha, the spokesperson of the United League of Arakan/ Arakan Army(ULA/AA).

During the press conference of Arakan Army on 27 February, he said, “If the coup leader’s visit is intended to lift blockade and restrictions on people, and to resolve the ongoing dilemma, we don’t need to say anything about it. However, if he tried to politically promote his State Administration Council, or if his visit is aimed for attracting business and investment with giving wrong message that Rakhine state is in total peace and stability, it will not give any benefit to the locals.”

He added that AA will be watched whether the junta chief will try  to spread political propaganda to international community as if there is no problem in Rakhine State.

Clashes resumed between the AA and the military in early August last year, and both sides made the informal ceasefire agreement in November.
